DOCUMENTARY FILM & PHOTOGRAPHY - 'BUILD YOURSELF'
'BUILD YOURSELF' : Open Source Ecology - Factory E Farm, Missouri, USA. Aug 2012.
I recently spent three weeks in the USA documenting an organization called Open Source Ecology for a film competition set up by Sundance Festival, called Focus Forward. The brief was to create a 3 minute documentary based on a person, idea, place or concept that is changing the world for the future.
OSE was set up by Marcin Jakubowski in Missouri, USA. His ideas, philosophy and hands on building of of the Global Village Construction Set (50 most crucial machines for building a new modern civilization, free of privatized industrial constraints and capitalistic ideals) is aiming to change the way we live, work and communicate in our future world. He has already built and shared the designs for his own life tractor, CEB earth brick press, dimensional saw mill, power cube and trencher. sharing all designs and instructions online for free for anybody anywhere in the world to share and adopt. He was invited by TED talks to speak at their conference on how OSE hope to change not only the face of industry but also the way people live, work and socialize within their own communities.
Building sustainable open source communities, free to share knowledge, ideas, practice, and visions of a future free of the constraints of 'economic scarcity'.

SHORT FILM - 'RIPPLE'
'Ripple' is a short film that draws from the abstract forms and mechanical contortions of the human body, exploring and exploding the intricate and microscopic dynamics behind every day movements and human cycles. The sound track, composed from commissioned field recordings from the shoreline of the wild shingle plains of Dungeness in Kent, provides a natural echo to these self-same notions of cyclic movement tension as the Atlantic Ocean exercises its vast body in a never ending process of transferal and regeneration.
All video and sound are original recordings and have not been modified.

DOCUMENTARY VIDEO - Fred & Company 'Electric Planets'
Documentary short film exploring the latest work from visual artist and musician Fred Deakin, in his new interactive installation for the Joe Le Joue (Play Along) exhibition at La Gaite Lyrique gallery in Paris, France's cultural centre for digital arts and music.
Fred & Company transformed La Gaîté’s 21-meter-long projection wall into an animated interactive instrument-machine. Eight glowing, responsive “planets” are echoed in mirrors. By moving around the floor space in front of these planets, visitors can mix new musical compositions and trigger entrancing visual effects.

VIRAL VIDEO Alexander Mcqueen & Puma - 'Solar'
The video was created for the Showstudio competition 'Raw Power' for the fashion collaboration of Puma and Alexander Mcqueen.
The video creates an unknown world set in the centre of the sun. It is this raw power that provides the energy for the remains of existence in the battle of the sexes for supreme power.

I was approached by the Creative Agency, Think Espionage to come up with a set of visuals for Oxfam's latest campaign. I suggested the idea of a combination of a Viral Fashion Promo, documentary video and photography to record the process of the Oxfam DIY Campaign as it ran for the course of the entire 2009 summer season.
Festivals, Fashion shows, Music, Behind the Scenes, Store Re-designs, Shop Openings, and all led by the always iconic designer Mrs Jones. I also photographed the campaign; photoshoots, workshops, all festivals, behind the scenes and all portariture of Mrs Jones. for a feature by ID Magazine. Photos below.
The 1st promo video was created using a combination of rotoscoping, hand made models, stop frame animation and motion graphics, by the collaborative team of Drew Cox and Jonny Harris to coincide with the launch of the Oxfam DIY Campaign and the opening of the first OXFAM DIY Store in Camden, London. The video was also showcased on the large festival screens throughout the summer festival season, Glastonbury, Leeds, Reading and Bestival, as part of Oxfams campaign to raise awareness of the project.
